Nina Cheung, M.D.

Medical Director & Physician

Dr. Cheung is the Medical Director and Consulting Physician
of our Primary Care Unit, with oversight of occupational medicine,
worker’scompensation, DOT drug screening, provider scheduling, co-
ding, and billing across three locations. Previously, she was an award-winning phys-
ician at Hahnemann University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cheung is passionate about promoting health awareness
through community outreach and public speaking. She also has a gift for developing caring
and knowledgeable healthcare professionals through training and mentorship.

Dr. Cheung holds medical licenses in three states and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, she is a Certified Medical Examiner, Medical Review Officer, and Breath Alcohol Technician. She earned a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Sciences.

Robert Antonio

Robert Antonio DaSilva, M.D.

Physician

Dr. DaSilva is a highly educated staff physician specializing in urgent care. Since 1996, he has provided care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients in both emergency room and ambulatory care clinic settings at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Midtown Health Center, and La Clinica del Barrio in New York. He also served as a clinical instructor and preceptor for the residents and medical students in the Pediatric and Internal Medicine clinics and inpatient wards at Metropolitan Hospital/ New York Medical College.

Dr. DaSilva is licensed in both New Jersey and New York, and holds certifications by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. He earned a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree from S.U.N.Y. at Binghamton. Among his many credentials include DEA and CDS registrations and FMCSA, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications. His broad training ranges from CDC concussion and NYS DOH infection control to mandated reporting.

John Murphy

John Murphy, MD

Physician

John Murphy is a Board Certified Physician in the State of New Jersey, committed to providing compassionate, urgent, and state-of-the-art medical care to the community. His expertise and dedication is demonstrated through nearly 20 years of experience as a Private Practice Physician in New Jersey and New York.

Prior to joining Astra Health as a Private Practice Physician, Dr. Murphy was a Clinical Faculty member for 14 years in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Hoboken University Medical Center. Previously, he served as a Private Practice Physician for 6 years at Downtown Integrated Medical Services in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Murphy earned a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1997 and completed his internship/residency at St. Mary Hospital in New Jersey. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering in New Jersey.

Heather DeNigris

Heather DeNigris is a Certified Urgent Care Physician Assistant servicing patients in Basking Ridge, Hoboken, and Bayonne, New Jersey. Her diverse career spans extensive clinical clerkships at New York hospitals, private practices, long-term care facilities, and medical centers, in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Primary Care, Pediatric Medicine, Geriatrics, and OBGYN. Heather also worked as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant and Medical Technologist in award-winning, state-of-the-art environments such as Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Heather holds Physician Assistant licenses and Laboratory Technologist certifications in both New Jersey and New York. She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro College (New York) as well as joint Bachelor’s Degrees in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Rutgers University (New Jersey). She is a Drug Enforcement Administration Certified Medical Prescriber and a DOT Nationally Certified Medical Examiner. Additional certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PLS.

Tiffany Johnson

Tiffany Johnson, PA-C, MPAS

Physician Assistant

Tiffany Johnson is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in urgent and primary care for adults and children, including sick visits, laceration repair, x-rays, splinting, worker’s compensation, occupational medicine, and DOT physicals. In her previous role as a Senior Physician Assistant at South Shore Medical Care in New York, she was acknowledged for consistently exceeding quality, time, and service standards.

Tiffany’s dedication to a healthcare career is evidenced by multiple degrees and credentials, in cluding ACLS, BLS, DOT, and ACSM concussion certifications. She graduated cum laude from Touro College of Health Sciences in New York, earning a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Tiffany is licensed by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants and the State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners in both New Jersey and New York.

Lorraine Saunders

Lorraine Saunders, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Lorraine Saunders has been a highly respected Physician Assistant in the States of New Jersey and New York since 1995. Known for her empathy, compassion, focus, and patience, Lorraine has provided care to adult, pediatric, mentally ill, high acuity, and low acuity patients in medical centers, physician practices, acute care settings, and trauma centers.

As a flexible and supportive team player, Lorraine consistently takes on added responsibilities and leadership roles. During her 7-year tenure at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Lorraine created schedules for physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and initiated a shadowing and mentoring program for new students. While managing critical care patients in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brookdale University Medical Center for 12 years, Lorraine trained medical students and physician assistant students.

A proud member of the military forces since 2000, Lorraine earned the rank of Major in the Army National Guard Medical Service Corps. She developed efficacious treatment plans for injured soldiers and served as a liaison between the higher command in Iraqi, the soldiers, and their families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

In addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Touro College, Lorraine holds a Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law.

Ghulam Mehmood

Ghulam Mehmood is a highly educated Urgent Care Physician Assistant with a Master’s Degree and certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Infection Control, Child Abuse/Neglect, and HIPAA.

Ghulam has treated patients as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant at New York Ortho Care since 2014, with surgical privileges in New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Midtown Surgical Center, and Surgicare of Jersey City. He is an active member of the Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery and American Academy of Physician Assistants.

While earning a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from New York Institute of Technology, Ghulam was elected Class President and received an award for Physician Assistant Leadership. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from City University of New York Brooklyn College. During his academic years, Ghulam worked as a research assistant, tutor, and was selected to present a publication for peer review by the Editorial Board of the Journal of American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Lisa Primiani

Lisa Primiani, MD

Dr. Primiani has played pivotal roles in both establishing and managing operations of new urgent care centers and a primary care practice in New Jersey. Most recently, she was On-Site Medical Director and Staff Physician at Prompt MD where she spent four years in Family Practice and six years in Urgent Care.

Dr. Primani is proficient in performing a wide range of medical procedures, including bursal aspirations, trigger point injections, incision and drainage of abscesses, laceration repairs, cyst aspirations, cryotherapy, skin tag removal, pap smears, foreign body removal, and musculoskeletal splinting. She is well versed in women’s health services ranging from family planning to menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis.

In 2011, she graduated from the Family Medicine Residency Program at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Rutgers/Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She served as Attending Physician, Co-Director of Pre-doctoral Education, and Instructor, where she was the recipient of both Faculty Teaching and Chief Resident Awards.

Dr. Primani is a Board Certified Physician with an MD from Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica. She also earned a BS in Finance from St. John’s University, New York. Professional affiliations include American Board of Family Medicine, New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American Medical Association.

Kate Schilling

Kate Schilling, MHS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Kate has provided outpatient management of acute and chronic medical issues to patients, from pediatric to geriatric, at Astrahealth since April 2016. As a Physician Assistant, Kate’s day-to-day responsibilities include performing physical examinations, interpreting x-rays and lab results, splinting, suturing, incision and drainage of abscess, foreign body removal, cerumen removal, and administration of vaccinations and injections.

Kate is proficient at handling a diverse caseload, encompassing acute asthma exacerbations, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, Lyme disease, cellulitis, fractures, dislocations, sprains, concussions, migraines, chest pain, urinary tract infections, STIs, school physicals, occupational medicine, and DOT examinations. Additionally, she is a recognized resource for patient referrals.

Previously, Kate worked in the Orthopaedics Unit at University Hospital, Rutgers, The State University, for three years. She provided outpatient and inpatient management of orthopaedic patients in a 500 bed Level I state trauma center. She also managed acutely ill patients in a 400 bed Level II trauma center at Bridgeport Hospital, Yale-New Haven Health System. In these roles, she treated cases ranging from chronic heart failures and infectious diseases to bone tumors and complex revision surgeries.

In addition to NCCPA Certification, Kate holds Physician Assistant, CDS, and DEA Licensure in the States of New Jersey and Connecticut. She earned a Master of Health Science, Physician Assistant Program, from Lock Haven University where her clinical rotations included seven hospitals and specialty practices in Pennsylvania. She also holds a BS in Biology from Ursinus College, and BLS, ALS, PALS, and DOT Medical Examiner Certifications.

Paresh Desai

Paresh Desai, MS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Paresh is a highly educated professional with more than 20 years of experience in the medical, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently, Paresh was a Physician Assistant at Carestation Medical Group where he expertly treated primary care, urgent care, and workers’ compensation patients. He performed annual, sports, and DOT physicals, evaluated lab/diagnostic tests, performed suturing and other skilled procedures, and contributed to patient management of chronic diseases including hypertension and diabetes.

Previously, Paresh was a Physician Assistant in the areas of Cardiology, Urology, Trauma, and Surgical. He provided care to patients of all ages, from pediatric to adult, in both private practices and a regional medical center. He also conducted stress testing, triaged incoming calls, and responded to incoming traumas.

Before he transitioned to a purely Physician Assistant role, Paresh was an award-winning pharmaceutical sales representative at Parke-Davis (Pfizer), Sankyo Pharma (Daiichi Sankyo), Bracco Diagnostics, Pharmane, Innovex, and Inventiv. During his 20-year sales career, he gained expertise in Cardiology, Endrocrinology, Neurology, and Primary Care.

Paresh is a licensed and certified Physician Assistant with four degrees: MS (Physician Assistant) from Rutgers University, MBA (Innovation Management/Marketing) from Syracuse University, and an MBA (Marketing) and BS (Chemical Engineering) from Gujarat University, India.

Stephanie Zottoli

Stephanie Zottoli, MMS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Stephanie has been providing compassionate primary care to patients of all ages at Astrahealth since August 2016. She is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant licensed in three states: New Jersey, New York, and Florida.

Stephanie’s daily responsibilities include performing physical exams, formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan, interpreting lab tests and x-rays, prescribing medicine, and providing patient referrals. She excels at performing common procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, intramuscular injections, and cerumen removal. She is also experienced in lumbar punctures, endotracheal intubation, insertion and removal of central lines, trigger point injections, intra-articular injections, thoracentesis, paracentesis, papanicolaou cytology smears, and fluorescein staining of the eye. She is certified in BLS, ALS, PALS, and Basic EMT.

Previously, Stephanie spent two years servicing patients from infants to geriatric at First Choice Medical (Holbrook, NY) and Ocean Walk Health (Pompano Beach, FL). She also was a Physician Assistant Shadow at Jersey Shore Regional Trauma Center and a Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician with East Millstone First Aid Squad in Somerset, New Jersey.

Stephanie earned a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During that time, she completed clinical rotations in nine private practices, medical facilities, and regional medical centers. Additionally, she holds Masters of Education and BA (Biomathematics) Degrees from Rutgers in New Jersey.

Monica Camachot

Monica Camacho, MSN, FNP-BC

Family Nurse Practitioner

Monica is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She specializes in urgent and primary care for both adults and pediatrics. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of chronic and acute health care problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process. At Astrahealth she provides a wide range of care for our patients which includes sick visits, chronic disease management, laceration repair, incision and drainage of abscesses, foreign body removal, x-rays, splinting, workman’s compensation, occupational medicine, school physicals and DOT physicals.

Prior to joining Astrahealth, Monica was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Runnels Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare where she managed nursing care for 6 units with 200+ patients. During an 11-year tenure at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Monica’s exemplary leadership skills resulted in a promotion from Registered Nurse to Manager of the Emergency Department with oversight of 200 employees in a high volume Trauma ED. Earlier in her career she supported fast track, urgent, emergent, pediatric, psychiatric, and trauma cases as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department of The University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She spent an additional three years providing primary nursing care in a pediatric office setting.

Monica is a Drug Enforcement Administration Certified Medical Prescriber and a DOT Nationally Certified Medical Examiner. She earned her Master’s Degree from Walden University and holds degrees from University of Phoenix and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Additional certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC. Monica is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Lisa Herbert

Lisa Herbert, MD, FAAFP

Physician Assistant

Lisa Herbert is a Board Certified Physician with 20 years of experience as a practicing and managing physician in primary care. As a Family Physician at Astrahealth, she provides competent care to patients of all ages in Middlesex County. She also provides physicals and vaccinations for employees of Middlesex Educational Commission and Piscataway Volunteer Fire Department.

Dr. Herbert’s accomplished career spans roles as Medical Director, Staff Physician, Family Physician, Physician Advisor, and Clinical Assistant Professor. She managed a six-center family planning agency (Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey), provided medical leadership to a Case Management Department (Jersey Shore University Medical Center), and supplied clinical leadership in developing a local health care plan (AmeriHealth New Jersey). She spent five years volunteering her time teaching and mentoring students at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School.

Since 2015, Dr. Herbert has performed individual case reviews for health plans and insurance products at UnitedHealth Group. Additionally, she provides clinical and strategic input to organizational committees, projects, and tasks forces in the area of utilization management.

Dr. Herbert earned an MD and BA from State University of New York and completed a family practice residency at Mountainside Hospital. She also acquired Personal and Executive Coach Certification from The Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute.
